Mengão U-17 comes from behind to beat São Paulo and gain a good advantage in the Copa do Brasil final
With goals from Victor Hugo, Matheusão and Ythallo (own goal), Garotos do Ninho defeated the São Paulo team 3-1 at Morumbi
By Romulo Paranhos - inIn the first leg of the U-17 Brazil Cup final, Flamengo showed its strength and beat São Paulo, in a comeback, 3-1 on Tuesday night (9), at Morumbi. The goals of Mais Querido were scored by Victor Hugo, Matheusão, Ythallo (own goal) Now, Mengão can even lose by a goal difference and will be the champion of the tournament.

The game
Flamengo started the match by pressing São Paulo's ball out. In the 13th minute, Petterson ran through the middle, entered the box, and was brought down. But the referee ruled it a simulation and awarded a foul after the Flamengo forward handled the ball. The home side also launched an attack and threatened Dyogo Alves' goal.
In the 26th minute, São Paulo opened the scoring with Newerton, making it 1-0. The Boys from the Nest tried to react quickly and nearly tied the match with Petterson, who came face-to-face with the goalkeeper but ended up shooting wide. In the 44th minute, Matheus França came out in good position to score, but Leandro came out well and saved.
At the start of the second half, Mengão leveled the score! Matheus França received the ball on the right, dribbled past the defense, and sent a low cross. The goalkeeper couldn't clear it, and Victor Hugo simply tapped it into the back of the net: 1-1. After the equalizer, Flamengo grew in the match and began to attack São Paulo more. In the 19th minute, Matheus França received the ball inside the box and shot with precision, but the goalkeeper saved it.
In the 24th minute, Flamengo turned the score around with Matheusão! The striker, who had just entered the match, received a pass, gained speed, and cut through the defense. With his left foot, the player calmly beat the goalkeeper to put Flamengo ahead: 2-1. And he still had time for a third! In the 36th minute, after a cross, Leandro failed to clear the ball, Matheusão sent the ball into the box, and defender Ythallo sent it into his own net: 3-1.
In the final minutes, the Garotos do Ninho knew how to manage the result and took an important step in the fight for the U-17 Brazil Cup title. The return game will be played next Monday (15), at 17 pm, at Raulino de Oliveira, in Volta Redonda.
