In the seventh round of the Guanabara Under-15 Cup, Flamengo beat Vasco 2-1 on Saturday morning (25), in Gávea. The goals for the Mais Querido were scored by Lorran and Lucas. With this victory, Mengão remains at the top of the competition with 19 points.
The game
The Ninho Boys started the match by maintaining possession in attack, and in the fifth minute, they created their first clear chance. Bill received the ball on the left side of the box and shot first time. The goalkeeper made the save. Flamengo continued to pressure Vasco in search of the first goal.
With much more play, the red-and-black team invested in plays down the flanks, but struggled to penetrate the Vasco area. In the 32nd minute, Kevyn opened the scoring for Vasco with a shot from outside the box: 1-0. In the final play of the first half, Schlickmann took a dangerous free kick and nearly tied the match.
Early in the second half, Lorran made a great individual play on the right, burst into the box, and hit a cross, but no one could clear it. In the ninth minute, Mengão tied the score. Lorran carried the ball down the right, cut inside, and struck powerfully to score the first goal for the Red-Blacks: 1-1.
In the 28th minute, Mengão turned the game around! Edmilson took a free kick into the box and Lucas rose to the third floor to head the ball into the back of the net, sealing a 2-1 victory for the red-and-blacks at Gávea.
