On Thursday afternoon (27), Flamengo returned to play at the José Bastos Padilha stadium, Gávea, and beat Figueirense 3-2, with goals from Lincoln, João Pedro and Lucas Silva. After the match, captain Dener spoke exclusively to the official website about the result and the next steps in the U20 Brazil Cup.

"We played a good game, there was no lack of fight or commitment. We ended up giving in twice and putting them in the game, but we scored a goal at the end and we got the qualification," commented the number 3.

Taking the lead and conceding two equalizers, Flamengo dominated the match but couldn't prevent Figueirense from coming back. Despite this, Lucas Silva scored in the final kick to secure the victory.

"I'm responsible for the two goals conceded; they were both my mistakes. We had difficulties because of their tight marking, as they press high up the pitch. We're not used to that playing in Rio. But we managed to deal with that for much of the game, keeping the ball on the ground and imposing our rhythm," analyzed Dener.

In the other second-round match, Bahia overturned a deficit against Santos and advanced on penalties, qualifying to face Flamengo in the quarterfinals. Regarding the match, Dener urged caution: "It's a very difficult game. Bahia always comes out very strong and with a very technical team. We'll impose our rhythm and be Flamengo in our home. We'll go after them, always respecting the opposing team."

The Garotos do Ninho's next match will be on Thursday (4), against Bahia, at the José Bastos Padilha stadium, at 15 pm. The match is valid for the first leg of the quarterfinals of the Copa do Brasil Sub20.
