In yet another project aimed at expanding excellence in the recruitment of young athletes throughout Brazil, Flamengo's Youth Football Department announced a new partnership last week, this time in the Central-West region of the country. Real Brasília, a club located in the Federal District and currently fielding men's and women's football teams, becomes a partner of Flamengo, and from now on transforms itself into the club's hub for recruiting athletes not only from the Federal District, but from the entire Central-West region of Brazil. 

According to the agreement, among other advantages, Flamengo will provide the new partner with exchanges, courses, and internships for members of its technical staff, who will spend some time at Ninho do Urubu (Flamengo's training center) learning about the club's youth football methodology. Flamengo will also offer consulting services in creating the youth football department for the Brasília-based team. In exchange, Flamengo will use the Brasília club's infrastructure, which includes, for example, two training centers and several advanced recruitment points for athletes in the region, and will also have priority in signing players who attract Flamengo's attention. 

“We will share some of our technical and methodological knowledge to guide and assist them in implementing their youth football department. In return, Real Brasília, a very well-structured and organized club under its President Luís Felipe Belmonte, will become our main hub for recruiting athletes in the Central-West region of the country. Flamengo already has a technical scout on-site within its current operational structure, which will greatly facilitate the work. We are very pleased, and we are certain that this partnership will bear much fruit, both for Flamengo and for Real Brasília,” said Vitor Zanelli, Vice-President of Youth Football, Women's Football and Futsal at Flamengo.

“The Central-West region has always produced very high-quality athletes, not only in soccer but also in various other sports. Even considering this history, we thought it strategically advantageous to position ourselves more strongly in the region. We found the ideal partner for this project, and I am sure that together we will reap great rewards over the coming years,” concluded Luiz Carlos, General Manager of Flamengo's Youth Soccer program.
