Flamengo's promising field soccer players are on fire in the State Championships across three categories. In the youth division, the Rubro-Negro team remains undefeated in the competition, leading Group B with nine points. Meanwhile, in the children's division, the Gávea youth team also leads their group, and in the youth division, they are one step away from the semifinals.
In the youth competition, the Flamengo boys beat América Pro 3-2 in the last round and, this Sunday (September 19.09), at 9 am, at CFZ, they will play against Nova Iguaçu. In the children's competition, the red-and-black team will face Tigres do Brasil on Saturday (September 18.09), at 11 am, also at CFZ. The game is for leadership in Group J, as the teams are tied at the top.

The advantage gained in the first game of the quarterfinals is significant, but no one at Flamengo is certain of a place in the competition's semifinals.
"We have a four-goal lead, but we can't be too careful. We can't make mistakes and we have to be smart. Volta Redonda will have to come out and play, and that could make things easier for us," analyzed Flamengo coach Vanucci.
