Dudu celebrates goals, but wants the title

Top scorer scored three times in the 6-0 rout of Sevilla in the Eurofarma Super Cup semi-final

It's often said that great goalscorers must appear at the right time, in decisive moments. That's what happened with Flamengo's youth striker Dudu. After failing to score in the first stage of the Eurofarma Super Cup, the number 9 was eager to find the net. And he did it in the semi-final, against Sevilla.

The desire was so great that Dudu scored not just one, but three goals and helped Flamengo thrash the Spanish team 6-0. A result that not even he expected, but which ended up being celebrated by the entire group. And which, according to Dudu himself, can be even better if the team maintains its commitment for the final against Santos, this Sunday (01.08), at 12 pm, at Arena Barueri.

"Thank God the goals came. I was waiting for this moment. I just didn't imagine it would be three like that right away (laughs). But I was very happy to have helped the team and now we have to keep it up. The team worked hard, trained hard and if we keep this momentum going we will come out with the victory," he said.

The player is excited and hopes to make his mark in the tournament's grand final. However, he assures that, regardless of who scores the goals, his greatest desire is to be crowned champion.

"It doesn't matter who scores the goals. I'm just thinking about our team winning. But, God willing, we'll come away with the victory and a little goal from me," he added.

Coach Paulo Henrique is expected to field Flamengo for the final with Cesar, Galhardo, China, Marlon and Jorbison; Maycon, João Vitor, Guilherme and Ricardinho; Eliabe and Dudu.
