It's a champion! Flamengo made history once again by winning the U-20 Intercontinental Cup, played this Saturday (24), at Maracanã. The "Garotos do Ninho" defeated Olympiacos-GRE 2-1, and lifted the unprecedented trophy for the Mais Querido's youth football team. Caio Garcia and Felipe Teresa scored the goals that sealed Mengão's victory. Another day to be remembered by the more than 45 million red-black fans!

The game
The match began with the Ninho Boys maintaining possession and exchanging passes in the attacking half. The red-and-black team took the initiative, while Olympiacos closed in. Five minutes in, Zé Welinton crossed to the far post, and Iago headed over the bar.

Looking to open the scoring, Flamengo continued to attack and nearly scored in the 15th minute. Guilherme lined up, burst into the box, and hit a left-footed cross. The goalkeeper jumped to the corner to palm it away. As the game progressed, the Greek team began to attack more and threatened Dyogo Alves' goal.

In the 24th minute, Wallace Yan unleashed a powerful shot from outside the box, and the goalkeeper made a fine save, saving the Greeks from conceding the first goal. The first half ended goalless, but it was Flamengo who created the best chances.

In the second half, the match became quite tense, with many long balls and fouls. In the eighth minute, Olympiacos opened the scoring with Liatsikouras, after a rebound inside the box: 1-0.

After scoring the first goal, the Greek team remained on the attack and continued to pose a threat. Until the 27th minute, Mengão equalized through Caio Garcia, who had just come on. Wallace Yan fired a low shot, the goalkeeper rebounded, and the number 8 finished into the net, igniting the Red-Black Nation: 1-1.

In the final stretch, the game became even more tied, with Olympiacos losing its offensive momentum, while Flamengo controlled possession but failed to create any chances in attack. Mengão fought until the end and was crowned with a goal in stoppage time! Adriel crossed into the box for Wallace Yan. The striker passed the ball to Felipe Teresa, who finished into the net: 2-1.

With this, Flamengo won the unprecedented U-20 Intercontinental Cup title. Another trophy for the victorious Flamengo youth soccer team. Celebrate, Nation! Our kids have conquered the world!
