A morning of title-winning football for Flamengo! In the second leg of the Copa Rio U-17 final, Flamengo defeated Fluminense 1-0 at Gávea to become champions of the youth tournament. The youngsters were even playing for a draw, having won the first leg away from home, but they didn't give up and went in search of victory—a major achievement bolstered by two positive results in the grand final. Fabricio Lentz, early in the second half, scored the winning goal.

With this result, Mais Querido finished the competition with 11 wins, two draws and only two defeats in 15 games. 

The game

Flamengo started the match showing no satisfaction with the draw and went on the attack. In the first minute, Felipe Lima struck a powerful shot, but the opposing goalkeeper saved it. From then on, until the technical timeout in the 20th minute, the teams played evenly, but the game became very foul-prone.

In the 33rd minute, Felipe Lima received the ball in midfield, sprinted down the left, and beat everyone to the edge of the box, from where he finished into the corner, forcing a corner kick for the Mais Querido. The opposing defense cleared the danger from the spot, and the teams took the scoreless draw into the locker room.

It was at the beginning of the second half that Flamengo opened the scoring! Lucyan made a play through the middle and passed to Felipe Lima on the wing, the number 11 received the ball and centered it to Fabricio, who finished first and stuffed the net, to the joy of the Red-Black Nation: 1-0 Mengão!

The Boys from Gávea continued to dominate the match, creating chances to score a second goal. Combined with the red-and-black team's dominance in the second half, Fabricio Lentz's goal sealed the match, and why not, the tournament. They're champions!
