In the second game of the day, valid for the first round of the Rio Cup Under-17, Flamengo drew with Fluminense 3-3, this Saturday (26), in a very disputed classic under strong heat, in Gávea. The goals for Mais Querido were scored by Euder, Felipe and Lorran.
The game
On Fluminense's first attack, João Lourenço opened the scoring for the visitors: 1-0. Conceding the early goal forced the Flamengo youth team to push forward. Ten minutes in, Euder took a free kick from the edge of the area, and the ball went dangerously wide to the left of the Fluminense goalkeeper.
Next, Adriel received the ball inside the area, cut inside and shot hard. The goalkeeper stretched out and put it out for a corner. Flamengo were pressing for the equalizer! With more possession, the red-and-black team exchanged passes in the attacking half.
Around the 25-minute mark, the pace of the game slowed down a bit due to the intense heat at Gávea. At the 30-minute mark, Fluminense scored their second goal at a moment when Flamengo were playing better. Agner, on the edge of the box, struck a shot into the corner to extend the lead to 2-0.
In the 44th minute, Flamengo reduced the deficit! Bill made a good play on the left, dribbled to the byline and crossed into the box. Euder simply headed the ball in to score Flamengo's first goal: 2-1.
At the start of the second half, the Flamengo youth team continued to dominate possession, dominating the attacking third in search of an equalizer. In the 20th minute, Flamengo leveled the score! Felipe, who had just come on as a substitute, made a beautiful individual play, entered the penalty area, dribbled past the defenders and finished perfectly: 2-2.
After the technical break, Flamengo turned the game around with a fantastic goal! Lorran made a beautiful individual play down the right flank, entered the box, and chipped the ball past the goalkeeper to put Flamengo ahead: 3-2.
On the kickoff, Fluminense went on the attack and won a penalty. Kayque Almeida took the penalty and tied the game again: 3-3. Looking for a fourth goal, Flamengo threw everything into the attacking half in the final minutes of the game.
Despite attempts from both sides to score the winning goal, the derby ended in a draw at Gávea.
