Under-16s lose to Botafogo in the Guilherme Embry Tournament
The Ninho boys missed many chances and lost their unbeaten run in the competition.

The opponent was more competent in the finishing and defeated the Garotos do Ninho by a score of 3-1 (Peçanha). With the result, the Mais Querido stops at 17 points and sees its main rival reach 20, opening a three-point advantage with only two rounds remaining in the first round of the Guilherme Embry Tournament, the state championship of the category. In the next round, Flamengo hosts Boavista, in Gávea, needing a victory to stay alive in the fight for the symbolic title of the first round, which gives a direct spot in the final triangular of the tournament.
Botafogo had the first chance. Nine minutes into the game, after a corner kick, Reydson deflected the ball, and it grazed the post of Flamengo goalkeeper Bruno. In the 11th minute, Botafogo opened the scoring with Marquinhos. Flamengo came out swinging and had their first shot in the 12th minute, with a shot from outside the box by Rykelmo. João made the save with confidence.
The Ninho Boys came back more focused after the technical break and began creating more scoring chances. In the 22nd minute, Pedro Arthur received the ball on the left wing, got past his marker, and shot powerfully, but João made a good save. In the 23rd minute, Lázaro fired a low shot, but the Alvinegro goalkeeper, who was beginning to excel in the derby, made another save. The pressure was on the Mais Querido. In the 27th minute, Mayquinho took a superb free kick. The ball sailed past the wall and just missed João's right post, who simply watched and hoped.
Early in the second half, three minutes in, Botafogo extended their lead with a Russo shot from the edge of the box. The derby was evenly matched, but Botafogo held the upper hand in the small details and capitalized on the chances they created. Botafogo's third goal, scored by Nelson, came in the 22nd minute. The following minute, Peçanha pulled one back for the Red-Blacks, thanks to a major error by goalkeeper João.
The pressure from Mais Querido was intense again, seeking an equalizer. In the 30th minute, Peçanha shot from the edge of the box, but João narrowly avoided it again. In the 34th minute, it was Dhouglas' turn to take a chance, but João saved. The Ninho Boys fought until the end, but were unable to equalize.
