In a very lively game, Flamengo defeated Botafogo 4-3, this Tuesday (3), at the Luso Brasileiro Stadium, on Ilha do Governador, in the fourth round of the Brazilian Under-17 Championship. It was based on emotion: Mengão took the lead twice, opened up a two-goal lead, conceded a goal at the end and achieved its second victory in the competition. Number 10 João Vitor scored three goals and Luiz Guilherme completed the scoring.

The first goal for Flamengo came in the 11th minute. João Vitor raced in behind the defender, got in front, and skillfully beat the goalkeeper after a good pass from Luiz Guilherme. After some wasted promising attacks from Flamengo, Botafogo eventually equalized in the 17th minute.

The tie left the match tied, and Flamengo couldn't create any real danger. Both teams passed the ball around and tried to accelerate their attacks, but without many scoring chances. Flamengo came back to trouble in the 35th minute, with João Vitor's powerful shot forcing the goalkeeper into a good save.

That's when Ryan Roberto was fouled dangerously on the left in the 38th minute. He himself took the ball to the edge of the box, but in a set play, Falcone fired, and João Vitor pounced on the rebound to score his second of the match. Less than two minutes later, however, Botafogo tied the game again. At the end of the first half, Fla pressed, had two dangerous fouls and in stoppage time almost reached the third with Ryan Roberto, who hit the ball just past the goalkeeper's right post.

The second half began with Botafogo creating a threat in the 3rd minute. They responded in the 6th minute, with a good play by Luiz Guilherme, which the goalkeeper made a good save in the right corner. João Vitor's hat trick broke the deadlock in the 12th minute. The red-and-black number 10 received the ball from Heitor on the right, burst into the box, and fired a shot between the goalkeeper and the post.

Two minutes later, Luiz Guilherme scored the fourth goal, a superb defensive move before João Vitor's assist. In the 31st minute, a huge scare came as Flamengo hit the post. The fifth goal was just a hair's breadth away. Luiz Guilherme found himself in good position, beat the defender, and, unmarked, fired a dangerous shot to the left.

Drama marked the end of the match and almost complicated matters. First, goalkeeper Dudu Clasen saved a penalty in the 41st minute, which hit the bottom of the right post. Then, Botafogo pulled one back in the 48th minute, but the Boys from the Nest managed to hold on.
