In the semifinal of the Brasil Soccer Cup, the Mengão U-16 team beat São Paulo 3-2 on Wednesday afternoon (27), at the Cláudio Moacyr de Azevedo stadium, in Macaé. The red-black goals were scored by Guilherme (twice) and Felipe Lima. With the result, the Garotos do Ninho reached the third final of the year undefeated.
Mengão will face Cuiabá in the final, which will be played on Friday (29), at 11 am, at the Cláudio Moacyr de Azevedo stadium.
The game
The match started evenly, with a fierce battle for possession. São Paulo pressed Flamengo harder and swarmed around the Flamengo penalty area. In the 20th minute, Mengão took the lead! Guilherme unleashed a powerful free kick from a well-rehearsed free kick to make it 1-0. In the 36th minute, Mengão extended their lead. After a free kick in the box, Guilherme headed in his second goal of the match to make it 2-0.
In the second half, the Ninho Boys continued to pressure São Paulo in search of a third. In the 21st minute, São Paulo reduced the deficit with Ferreira, after a rebound at the edge of the box: 2-1. São Paulo equalized in the 30th minute: 2-2.
Mengão reacted quickly and scored the third goal with Felipe Lima, who made a beautiful individual play and hit it with a perfect shot: 3-2. In the final minutes, the red-black team managed to hold on to the victory and qualified for the Brasil Soccer Cup final undefeated.
