The game
Flamengo started the match looking to attack, crowding the attacking sector in the opening minutes. In the 8th minute, Petterson received the ball deep and looked for Mateusão in the box, but the ball was cleared before reaching the Flamengo's top scorer.
The Ninho Boys pressed Audax's ball out and managed to create dangerous situations. In the 13th minute, Werton capitalized on an opponent's misplaced pass, entered the box, and hit a cross, but his shot was deflected and stopped by the goalkeeper. In the 18th minute, Petterson made an individual play and was fouled on the edge of the box. Daniel Cabral crossed the ball, and Victor Hugo headed it into the corner. The ball just went wide.
The red-and-black blitz continued! First, Petterson fired a fine shot from outside the box, forcing a good save from the opposing goalkeeper. Next, Werton made a beautiful run down the right and crossed to Mateusão in the box, who volleyed it in beautifully but missed the ball.
In the 25th minute, Mateusão received the ball deep and fired a cross-shot, forcing another great save from Audax goalkeeper Cauã. In the 28th minute, Flamengo's full offensive output paid off. Daniel Cabral took a beautiful free kick from mid-range, the ball bounced in front of the goalkeeper and into the corner: 1-0.
The Ninho Boys continued to press after the first goal and soon scored a second. In the 34th minute, Mateusão pressured Audax's ball out, managed to intercept the pass, and went one-on-one with the goalkeeper to extend the lead to 2-0.
In the final stretch of the first half, Mais Querido continued to control the game, often being stopped by fouls.
Flamengo started the second half exploiting the right flank, particularly with full-back Wesley. In the 11th minute, Mateusão received the ball in the box and shot dangerously, but the goalkeeper cleared it for a corner. The defense cleared the shot.
Marcos Paulo then advanced through the middle and shot from outside the box. Victor Hugo simply had to tap the rebound into the net, making it 3-0.
