On Thursday night (5), Flamengo beat Aparecidense-GO 2-1 in the second round of the São Paulo Junior Football Cup. The match held at the Zezinho Magalhães Stadium, in Jaú, marked the Mais Querido's first victory in the competition. With the result, Flamengo takes the lead in group 5 and plays for a draw in the last round to advance to the next phase of the Copinha.

The Garotos do Ninho return to the field next Sunday (8), to face XV de Jaú, at 19:30 pm, for the third and final round of the qualifying phase of the São Paulo Cup.

The game

The match began with Flamengo taking control. In the first minute, Petterson took a shot from outside the box, but the opposing goalkeeper made a solid save. Ryan Luka then received two through balls. The first time, he was brought down, but the referee didn't signal a foul. The second time, he shot over the bar.

Mais Querido did not give up on the initial smothering and continued to press the opponent, arriving mainly through Lorran, who made good passes.

And the red-and-black momentum was rewarded. Petterson raced down the left, reached the byline, and crossed into the box; Lorran arrived from behind and finished with great skill into the back of the net: 1-0 Flamengo.

The second soon followed. After Aparecidense's poor clearance, Ryan Luka regained possession and found Lorran in the box; the youngster received the ball and fired a powerful shot into the corner to extend the lead: 2-0 Flamengo. Lorran's two goals sealed the first half.

At the beginning of the second half, Aparecidense reduced the score, with an own goal by Felipe Vieira: 2-1 Flamengo.

The Mais Querido (the most beloved team) went in search of a response; Ryan Luka made a run and was fouled hard just outside the box. Aparecidense's Dyego received his second yellow card and was sent off. Zé Welinton's free kick went over the bar.

With a man up, Flamengo further asserted its superiority in the match. Evertton nearly scored a stunning goal with a rare volley, but the ball just went wide. The Boys from the Nest created numerous chances in the closing stages, but the score remained 2-1 until the end.
