Balance marks the second round of the Flamengo Adidas Cup
No team is mathematically guaranteed to advance to the semifinals, and only Colo-Colo (CHI) is eliminated. Tuesday will be decisive.
By Ian Sena - inAnother round of the Flamengo Adidas Cup U-16, the largest international youth soccer competition ever held in Brazil, has come to an end. Taking advantage of the full facilities offered by CT George Helal, the eight participating teams returned to the field on Monday morning (5) for the second round of the competition. In the day's four matches, 14 goals were scored. The total number of goals scored is 34, an average of over four goals per match.
Ninho Boys just need a draw
Opening the second round, Mengão faced Santos Laguna of Mexico. The match was very even from the first minute to the last, resulting in a 1-1 draw (Menegatti scored for the first time wearing the Sacred Mantle, and Alex Valência equalized for the Mexicans). With four points, the Mais Querido only needs a draw in tomorrow's match against Colo-Colo to secure its place in the semifinals. In the other group game, Arsenal (ENG) recovered from the defeat suffered by the Rubro-Negro and defeated Colo-Colo (CHI) 3-1 (Kamarni Ryan [2] and Ferdinand scored for the English team, and Diego Muñoz scored the consolation goal for the Chileans). The result keeps Arsenal in the game, needing only a simple victory over Santos Laguna to qualify. After two losses, Colo-Colo is the first team eliminated from the competition.

São Paulo wins Brazilian duel in Group 2
In Group 2, Independiente Del Valle (EQU) easily defeated Atlético Nacional (COL) 3-0, with goals from Daniel Mejia [2] and Ismael Sanchez. In the Brazilian clash that closed the second round of the group, and was the best game of the day, São Paulo defeated Atlético MG 3-2 (Lucas Ferreira, Felipe Silva, and William Santos scored for the São Paulo team, while Fabio Lima and Lucas Loss scored own goals for the Minas Gerais team). With six points and a positive goal difference of six, São Paulo is virtually qualified for the semifinals. Atlético Nacional needs a miracle, and Atlético MG and Independiente Del Valle will fight for the second spot.
