A rain of goals. That's what was seen in the match between Flamengo and Boavista, valid for the U-20 State Championship, this Thursday (19.02). Playing in Gávea, the team led by Zé Ricardo defeated the Rio team by a large score of 9 to 0.

Scorer of three goals in the rout and one of the match's top scorers, striker Douglas Baggio commented on the victory after the game. "We knew how to impose ourselves on the field, finding the net early on. We played much better than last week, and I was very happy with the result, especially because I helped with three goals. Now it's time to work hard to face Madureira on Sunday (February 22.02) and repeat our good performance."

The game

Just two minutes into the game, full-back Jorge opened the scoring for Flamengo with a beautiful left-footed shot. Soon after, Jorge doubled the lead, demonstrating the red-and-black team's inspiration. Shortly after, Cafu made it 3-0, Douglas Baggio added the fourth, and then the fifth. The first half came to a close, but the avalanche of goals from the young Flamengo players seemed unstoppable.

Just as the first half ended, the second began. In the 14th minute, Baggio found the net for the third time, followed by Jorge – also scoring his hat trick – in the 22nd.
Finally, Sávio and Ronaldo, in the final moments of the game, closed the score at 9-0 for Flamengo.

In the previous match, against Cabofriense, Jorge, the Mais Querido's number six, also scored a goal for Rubro-Negro. At the time, the athlete reinforced that it's difficult for a full-back to find the net, but today, the youngster proved otherwise once again. "I really think it's very difficult for a full-back to score goals, but if I can, I'll do more. My goal is to help the club, whether up front or defensively. The game against Madureira will be very close, but we hope to get another good result," concluded the full-back.
