Flamengo's under-20 team took the field this Saturday (May 16.05) to face Cabofriense, and they did not disappoint. In a match valid for the 4th round of the Rio Cup, the red-and-black boys maintained their unbeaten streak with another victory in the championship. Even though it wasn't an easy life, the Mais Querido defeated the Cabo Frio team 3-2 and now continues its preparation for its next challenge, on Wednesday (May 20.05), against Boavista.

The boys opened the scoring with Thiago Santos and extended their lead early in the second half with a stunning goal from Paquetá. Soon after, Cabofriense pulled one back, but coach Zé Ricardo's men didn't change their rhythm and added another through Vizeu, who had just come on. Late in the match, the opposing team pulled one back, but the score ended 3-2 for Flamengo. This was the Mais Querido's fourth victory in four games, with Thiago Santos finding the net in each of those matches.

At the end of the match, coach Zé Ricardo expressed his satisfaction with the team's performance on the field. "The match was very difficult. Playing here is never easy. They have a good team and are coming off good results. We struggled a bit at the end when they closed the gap. We had a mixed team, but I was very happy with everyone's response. This is great because it gives us more options for this Rio Cup. We have high expectations for the upcoming matches, and if we achieve good results, we'll have a chance to win the title. If we can maintain these good results, we'll take an important step toward achieving this," the coach concluded.

This Saturday, Flamengo's under-15 and under-17 teams also took to the field, but they weren't as fortunate as their older counterparts, losing 3-2 and 2-1 to Vasco da Gama.
