Flamengo has taken another important step towards developing its athlete scouting and recruitment program, an area considered strategically crucial. The club's technical team visited Canto do Rio, a traditional club in Niterói, where they conducted an evaluation that brought together approximately 600 athletes aged between 6 and 17 years old.

It is worth noting that the Niterói club also brings together athletes from São Gonçalo, one of the most populous municipalities in the state of Rio, and from the Lakes Region, among other cities, which together have millions of inhabitants. Ricardo Perlingeiro, the scouting/market manager for Flamengo's youth categories, highlighted the work done alongside Alfredo Almeida, the director of the Rubro-Negro youth academy.

"In line with the expansion process of our talent scouting department, we are focusing our efforts on Canto do Rio, which has athletes from many areas near Niterói, a region that deserves all our attention. Vinícius Júnior is a prime example, as he was born in São Gonçalo," says Perlingeiro.

The youth academy's scouting/market manager added that Rafael Soriano and Junior Bessa, executive director and sports manager of Canto do Rio, respectively, will periodically monitor the work of the Flamengo youth academy professionals in person at the George Helal Training Center. The objective is to observe the implemented methodology and thus ensure that the recruited athletes are even more prepared to play for Flamengo.

Besides Ricardo Perlingeiro, five more professionals from the technical area of ​​Flamengo Present at the technical evaluation at Canto do Rio were: technical observers Mateus Monteiro, Emerson Santos, Lucas Azevedo and Matheus Pachu, and the physical trainer for the under-11 and under-12 categories, Natan Araújo.
