Flamengo's youth academy teams have begun returning to training following the end of the 2014 calendar year. Except for the under-20 team, which already participated in the São Paulo Junior Cup and is competing in the State Championship, and the under-15 team, which won the Copa Brasil in January, all other youth academy players returned to training this week. As is natural, several players have moved up a category, a common development process for players seeking a future in professional football. To this end, new coaches have joined the Rubro-Negro's professional staff, aiming for increasingly better and more detailed work.

Ramon Lima, coming from Ponte Preta's youth academy, arrives at Flamengo to be the new coach of the club's under-14 team and assistant coach of the under-15 team. Wallace Machado, son of former player Sílvio Batuta, arrives to coach the Rubro-Negro youth team. In addition to the new coaches, the Mais Querido youth academy scouting team sent a talent acquisition team to Bahia, where negotiations are in advanced stages to bring new talent to Flamengo's squad.

Carlos Noval, the club's Executive Director of Youth Football, spoke about these changes for the 2015 season. "All our efforts are aimed at making Flamengo stronger. The arrival of new professionals and the search for athletes is precisely to strengthen us. We are following the schedule for our young players without skipping steps so they can continue the Mais Querido's successful tradition of developing great athletes." With a calendar packed with competitions, 2015 promises to be another successful year for the Mais Querido youth team.
