Before Flamengo's professional soccer squad took the field this Saturday (June 13.06), the Mais Querido under-15, under-17, and under-20 teams played in the state championships for their respective categories, all at the Gávea social headquarters. The final result of the matches was two wins and one loss for the Rubro-Negro. Check it out:

The younger team, playing against Tigres do Brasil, won 5-0. With 26 points, the team sits second in the Taça Guanabara and is close to securing a spot in the semifinals. Goals were scored by Yuri, Lincoln, Ferrari, Leandro, and Vinícius. The team returns to action against Bangu next Saturday (June 20.06) in the penultimate round of the first phase.

The U-17 team played against the same opponent and won 3-0. Matheus Iacovelli, Michael, and Pepê scored the goals that put the Rubro-Negro in second place in the Guanabara Cup in that category. The team's next opponent is also Bangu, on the same date as the U-15 team.

The U-20 team also played against Tigres in a match for the category's Taça Rio. Despite a valiant effort, the "Mais Querido" (The Most Beloved) lost 3-2, with goals from Douglas Baggio and Robinho. Flamengo still sits second in the championship, just one point behind the leader. The team competes in the Brazilian Junior Championship simultaneously with the second round of the Taça Rio. Coming off a 2-1 victory over Coritiba, the boys face Corinthians on June 24th at 15 pm in Gávea.
