U-15 and U-17 teams win the Guanabara Cup
Younger team wins on penalties; matches were valid for the eighth round of the first half of the Carioca

On the morning of last Sunday (31.05), Flamengo's under-15 and under-17 teams took to the field for the eighth round of the Guanabara Cup, against Portuguesa, at Luso Brasileiro, each team in their category. While the under-15 boys drew in regular time (1-1) and won on penalties (5-4), earning two points, the under-17 team managed to win within 90 minutes (2-0).
In the first half of the under-15 match, Flamengo opened the scoring through Bernardo Ferrari, but conceded an equalizer in the second half. According to the competition rules, matches that end in a draw after 90 minutes must be decided by penalties. Flamengo converted all of their penalties, and Portuguesa missed one. The boys return to the field on Thursday (June 04.06th), at 15 pm, against Volta Redonda, at the Gávea social headquarters.
In the under-17 match, Flamengo's goals were scored by Bernardo in the first half and Matheus Iacovelli in the second. Before returning to the field for the Guanabara Cup, some of the boys in the category will play a classic against Fluminense on Tuesday (02.04), in Laranjeiras, for the second round of the Under-16 Guilherme Embry Tournament. On Thursday (04.06), at 13 pm, the team faces Volta Redonda, also at the Gávea social headquarters.
