Flamengo achieved an important result in the first leg of the quarterfinals of the Carioca Sub-20. This Saturday (18), the red-black team beat Maricá 3-0, at the Elcyr Resende Stadium, in Saquarema. The goals of the match were scored by Alan Santos, Daniel Sales and João Vitor.

Before the return match, Rubro-Negro makes its debut in the Under-20 Brazil Cup, in a duel with Porto Vitória-ES, on Wednesday (22), at 15 pm, at the José Bastos Padilha Stadium, in Gávea. The second clash with Maricá is scheduled for the 25th, at the same location.

The game

In a well-planned move, Flamengo opened the scoring in the 9th minute. Douglas Telles broke down the right and passed to Daniel Salles, who crossed perfectly for Alan Santos to tap in. In the 13th minute, Alan received the ball on the left and nearly scored the second, chipping it in with a lob. The goalkeeper made the save, and the ball fell to him, who flicked it back, and Guilherme almost scored.

Two minutes later, Guilherme hit the right post with a cross-shot. Maricá created some danger for the first time in the 18th minute. The sun came out, and the temperature warmed up nicely. In the 30th minute, Maricá launched a quick counterattack down the left, and Léo Nannetti intercepted the cross well. 

Rubro-Negro had a good move in the 35th minute, with Pedro Leão and Alan, but the opposing defense cleared the ball for a corner. In the 41st minute, Maricá had its best chance, but Iago reacted well and blocked the striker's shot.

A minute before halftime, Pedro Leão had two more chances. The first came after receiving a pass from Daniel Sales and shooting, which was brilliantly saved by the Maricá goalkeeper. The number 9 then received the ball at speed on the right wing and shot just to the right of the post.

In the first minute of the second half, Daniel Sales hit a beautiful shot from outside the box to score the second, after receiving a pass from Kaio Nóbrega. The ball landed in the right corner. A real treat. In the 4th minute, Iago took a dangerous free kick that grazed the left post.

Two minutes later, another beautiful goal: Pablo started the play with a backheel, the ball reached Daniel Sales on the right, who passed it to João Vitor to score. The fourth goal came just short in the 23rd minute, with a great play down the right. After a good triangulation, Alan received the ball from Wanderson and shot wide.

Bruno Pivetti's team began to control the game, giving Maricá no chance. Attacking moves were successful, but they lacked precision, sometimes in assists and sometimes in the final shot. In the 41st minute, Wanderson took a corner kick, and Iago headed dangerously. Three minutes later, Camargo shot over after a rebound from the goalkeeper. In the 45th minute, the referee ended the game.
