Flamengo's youth team won the second game of the final of the State Championship in the category, this Sunday (25.11), in Gávea, against Artsul, by 3 to 0, and guaranteed another title for the red-black youth team in 2012. In the first game of the final, held last Thursday, Fla had already beaten the opponent by 1 to 0. Douglas Baggio, top scorer of the tournament with 46 goals, scored two this Sunday. Juan completed the score.
With the medal already on his chest, Douglas Baggio celebrated the title, the top scorer and another impressive feat: 72 goals scored in the season.
"First, I want to thank God for everything, for the title and for those 72 goals. Now, we have to stay focused and keep working hard. The Brazilian Championship is still around the corner," said Flamengo's youth number 9.
Another standout player on the team, midfielder Renan Donizete, who scored the winning goal in the first leg of the final, also celebrated the title won at Gávea.
"I'm very, very happy. Only we know what we went through, how much we fought to get here. It was a lot of work, a lot of emotions... A title like this is very important for our career, which is just beginning," he said.
Very emotional, midfielder Juan, who scored for Artsul this Sunday, highlighted the team's unity.
"It's very emotional. I've seen this group growing. I've been here since I was nine... It's a really great emotion," he concluded.
