With a goal in the 18th minute of the first half, scored by Emanuel, Flamengo defeated Juventude 1-0 and achieved its third consecutive victory in the Brazilian Under-17 Championship. The match was played on Tuesday afternoon (26), at the José Bastos Padilha Stadium, in Gávea.

The result guaranteed Rubro-Negro a place in the qualifying phase for the quarterfinals. The next game in the competition will be next Monday (1st), at 20 pm, against Internacional-RS, away from home.

From the start of the match, Flamengo had more possession and pushed for the goal, but couldn't pose much threat to Juventude's defense. Until the 18th minute, João Carlos made a good run down the right, inside the box, and managed to cross. Emanuel, well-positioned, got there before the goalkeeper and scored with a header.

The goal boosted confidence in Daniel Franklin's team, which became more incisive in attack, conceding virtually nothing defensively. Juventude took the lead in the 38th minute, with a cross-shot that sailed just wide of Gabriel Werneck's post. The Caxias do Sul team stepped up their game late in the first half and came close to equalizing in the 43rd minute, with a corner kick. Gabriel Werneck made a stunning save after a shot from inside the box.

The second half continued much like the first: Flamengo took the initiative, and Juventude tried to surprise with counterattacks. After posing some danger on the left, Flamengo saw their opponents get their first shot on goal in the 12th minute. Gabriel Werneck saved it without any major problems.

Even with greater territorial dominance, Flamengo couldn't create clear-cut opportunities. They needed to find the final pass to finish off the plays. The Flamengo defense remained unfazed until the final whistle, sealing another important result for the Garotos do Ninho in the Brazilian Under-17 Championship.
