The red-black team achieved its eighth victory in the Brazilian Under-20 Championship

Under the light rain and 16°C cold that changed the landscape of Rio de Janeiro this Tuesday (24), the Garotos do Ninho won 2-1 against Santos, in the Brazilian Under-20 Championship. Felipe Teresa scored both goals for the team in the match, played at the José Bastos Padilha Stadium, in Gávea. Flamengo rose to third place in the competition, but there are still seven games left to complete the 15th round.

Flamengo's first big chance came in the 9th minute, when Felipe Teresa received the ball on the right side of the attack, chipped the ball over the goalkeeper, and the ball skimmed the right post. On his second opportunity, Felipe Teresa made no mistake. The number 7 hit a beautiful shot from the edge of the box, but the ball ended up in the top right corner in the 12th minute.

The goal left the team feeling more relaxed. Rubro-Negro, with more possession, exchanged passes quickly in search of a second. Felipe Teresa remained unstoppable. In the 16th minute, the striker once again threatened the Santos goalkeeper, firing another dangerous shot from outside the box. The São Paulo team created some danger in the 19th minute, but Lucas Furtado made the save.

After another good chance from Pedro Leão and Felipe Teresa in the 23rd minute, the game slowed down. Santos had a better chance, as they managed a dangerous shot in the 28th. Six minutes later, Flamengo arrived with Gusttavo. In the 40th minute, Lucas Furtado showed confidence with a good save. A minute later, Wanderson headed in, but the Santos goalkeeper saved again.

In the second half, Flamengo continued to possess the ball more and sought to occupy the attacking half, while Santos closed in and started to gain momentum. The red-and-blacks' play was concentrated more on the right side of the attack, with Felipe Teresa, Wanderson, and Pedro Leão, who also occasionally dropped to this area.

Felipe Teresa scored his second goal of the match in the 18th minute. The striker stole the ball on the right wing, advanced, and, as he approached the box, hit a precise cross-shot that left no chance for anyone to defend. In the 37th minute, Flamengo came close again, thanks to a good play by Guilherme, who dribbled and fired a low shot that the goalkeeper saved.

Santos then nearly scored the first goal, shooting wide. Soon after, in the 40th minute, Santos attacked again hard and reduced the deficit. Flamengo still had a good chance with a free kick in the 43rd minute, before the referee ended the match.

Flamengo's next opponent in the Brazilian Under-20 Championship will be RB Bragantino. The match is scheduled for next Wednesday (2), at 15 pm, in Atibaia.
