By Communication - inThe 4-2 loss left Flamengo with the obligation to beat Vasco by three goals to reach the final of the U-17 Brazil Cup. If Flamengo wins by two goals, the spot will be disputed on penalties. The first leg of the semifinal was played this Tuesday (22), at the Luso-Brasileiro Stadium. The return leg is scheduled for the 29th.
Flamengo threatened in the fifth minute, with a shot from Ryan Roberto saved by goalkeeper Lucas. Pedro Henrique nearly scored on the rebound. Vasco, meanwhile, attempted crosses into the box. One of them, in the 5th minute, went just wide of Werneck's right post. Five minutes later, the Flamengo number 14 made a difficult save.
Flamengo's best chance so far came in the 26th minute, a play orchestrated by right-back Heitor, who fed Jhefinho's cross to Victor Hugo's head. Goalkeeper Lucas saved. The move galvanized the team, and they scored three minutes later, with a beautiful free kick from Ryan Roberto into the goalkeeper's right corner. Paulo Henrique also had a dangerous shot in the 35th minute.
After nearly conceding a goal in the 36th minute, in another Vasco da Gama attack on the wing, Flamengo had a great chance to extend their lead, but wasted a valuable counterattack. Vasco then equalized in the 38th minute with a goal from number 9 Diego. Before the half ended, in the 44th minute, Heitor fired a shot close to goal, just over the crossbar.
The first chance of the second half fell to Flamengo, with João Ricardo shooting, but the Vasco goalkeeper made a great save. Vasco, however, scored again in the 10th minute, with a shot from inside the box, scored by Davi. Flamengo equalized in the 13th minute, after a run down the left wing by Ryan Roberto, which ended in a shot by Jhefinho, after a challenge with the goalkeeper.
Vasco regained the lead in the 19th minute, heading in a cross from the right. Flamengo tried to equalize, but despite their efforts, they couldn't pose much threat to the opposing goal, which was quickly coming out and causing problems on the counterattack. The advantage gave Vasco more confidence, as they tried to keep possession of the ball as long as possible, and the fourth goal, the last of the game, ended up coming on another counterattack in the 40th minute, from Andrey.
