In a crucial match in the ninth round of the Taça Rio, the second half of the Campeonato Carioca de Juniores, Flamengo's youngsters were defeated by Madureira, 1-0, away from home. The team from Gávea had good chances to score, but failed to capitalize on them and were surprised by a penalty kick from Tricolor Suburbano in the second half. With the result, the two teams are tied on 19 points.
"Unfortunately, we were defeated by a penalty goal and we know that now we'll have to work hard to recover, but we can't get discouraged. We have another game on Wednesday and we have to bounce back," said full-back Alex.
