The Flamengo team showed no lack of effort in the 1-0 defeat to Bahia, away from home, in the ninth round of the Brazilian Under-20 Championship. The goal conceded in the 11th minute of the game sealed the score of the match, played at the Evaristo de Macedo Training Center, in Camaçari, metropolitan region of Salvador, this Thursday (30).

Despite the unfavorable result, Flamengo remains in the qualifying zone for the knockout stage of the competition. Fla is in eighth place with 14 points and will face Palmeiras in a week, on the 7th, at 18 PM, at the Luso Brasileiro Stadium, on Ilha do Governador, in Rio de Janeiro.

Bahia started on the attack, pressing Flamengo's build-up play and, by the 5th minute, had already hit the post twice. At 11 minutes, the home team took the lead. Flamengo tried to balance the game and find an equalizer with plays down the right flank, mainly through Douglas Telles, Daniel Sales, and Josmar, but ended the first half trailing.

The second half was characterized by balance. Flamengo improved their performance, becoming more offensively present, but didn't pose much of a threat to Bahia's defense. The Bahia team, in turn, also failed to create dangerous chances until the final whistle.
