Flamengo no longer relies solely on itself to advance to the next stage of the Brazilian Under-20 Championship. Coach Paulo Henrique's team drew 1-1 with Atlético Mineiro in their last qualifying match, and now they'll have to overcome the Minas Gerais team and Atlético-GO in the final round of the competition. With a bye this round, the red-and-blacks will have to root for Palmeiras, the leaders, and Guarani, already eliminated.

With a different lineup, featuring Negueba, Rafinha, and Thomas, giving the team a more attacking edge, Flamengo started the match better, putting pressure on the Minas Gerais team. And it was precisely from Negueba, Gávea's number 10, that the first goal came. In the 26th minute, he made a good play and left Alex in excellent position to finish. The number 2 didn't even need to adjust; he struck first time, powerfully, into the back of the net to make it 1-0.

In the second half, however, Galo entered the field determined to turn things around. And in the 16th minute, they equalized with a corner kick. Sidimar took advantage of a deflection at the near post to duck and head the ball into the net. Flamengo continued to push for victory, creating opportunities, but the score remained unchanged. It was Flamengo's second draw in the competition. The team had already drawn 1-1 with Atlético-GO and reached five points. In the other matches, they won against Guarani and lost to Palmeiras.
