Last year's São Paulo Junior Football Cup champion, Flamengo failed to repeat the feat this season and is already eliminated from the tournament after drawing all three of its first-round matches. On Monday night, the red-and-black team drew 2-2 with São Carlos at Professor Luís Augusto de Oliveira Stadium and bowed out of the competition.

 Flamengo started the game pressing from the first minute, showing signs of a desire for victory at all costs. After a cross into the box and a rebound, Lorran took a shot, and the opposing goalkeeper made a great save with his foot. The punishment came soon after, three minutes into the first half, when striker Paulo Henrique hit a right-footed shot into the corner of goalkeeper Caio's net, opening the scoring for São Carlos.

But the red-and-black boys didn't stay behind for long. In the 10th minute, Muralha went on the attack, received a good pass from Adryan, and, in a stroke of luck and opportunism, leveled the score for Flamengo. After moving the scoreboard, Mengão continued to attack. And their offensive momentum was rewarded in the 23rd minute, when Samir headed in the winning goal.
