Flamengo was losing, winning, and ultimately drawing 2-2 with Palmeiras on Wednesday night. The result, which secured the team from Gávea second place in Group 4 of the competition, came with a thrilling finish. In the 38th minute, Mengão was trailing 1-0. Four minutes later, they were leading 2-1, but in the final minutes, Palmeiras equalized again, and the final score was 2-2.

The match began with Palmeiras attacking and Flamengo looking to counterattack. The red-and-black strategy, however, backfired, and the team ended up cornered in their own half. Proof of this is that the São Paulo team wasted no time in scoring. In the first half, João Arthur, the team's standout performer, opened the scoring from the penalty spot.
