Rubro-Negro took no notice of Sevilla in this Friday's semifinal: 6-0
By From the team at Flamengo's official website - inFlamengo is in the final of the Eurofarma Junior Super Cup. After winning all their matches in the first phase, coach Paulo Henrique's team maintained their strong form and crushed Sevilla of Spain in the semifinal this Friday (July 30.07) at Arena Barueri. With goals from Eliabe, Galhardo, Dudu (three) and Maycon, the Rubro-Negro defeated the European team 6-0 and now awaits Santos or Peñarol in the final.
Smashing Start
In the first half, Flamengo demonstrated why they achieved a 100% record in the competition. Dominating the match from the opening minutes, Flamengo gave their Spanish rivals no chance. However, it wasn't until the 26th minute that their dominance turned into a goal. After a strong run by Ricardinho, full-back Jorbison received a ball on the left wing. He crossed, and after striker Dudu pulled the marker, Eliabe headed the ball into the Sevilla net.
Still reeling from the deficit, the Spanish team suffered another setback five minutes later. Dudu, in a beautiful individual play, ended up being brought down inside the box. Galhardo, the team captain, collected the ball and scored his third goal of the competition, from the penalty spot.
Grand Finale
In the final stage, despite winning, Flamengo didn't slow down. João Vitor passed a two-touch free kick to Dudu, who fired a powerful shot to score his first goal of the competition, extending the lead to 3-0. Midfielder Maycon Douglas added the fourth, and anyone who thinks Flamengo stopped there is mistaken. Top scorer Dudu still provided a fitting finish to the match. Having failed to score so far in the competition, he made sure to complete the rout by scoring two more goals, making it 6-0.
