Fla beats Botafogo away from home in the Rio U-15 Cup

The under-17 team drew with Alvinegro, in the same competition, this Saturday (11), in matches played at the Nilton Santos Stadium

Victory in the classic and an important step towards the semifinals. With a strong performance, Flamengo defeated Botafogo 3-1 away from home in the penultimate round of the qualifying phase of the Copa Rio U-15. The U-17 team secured a 3-3 draw with Alvinegro in the same competition. The matches were held this Saturday (11), on the synthetic turf of the Nilton Santos Stadium.

Mengão saved the drama for the second half in their U-15 match against Botafogo. Davi Fraga scored the first goal in the first minute. Marcos Pierre doubled the lead four minutes later, taking advantage of Davi's assist.

Number 19, Davi came off the bench and scored the third goal for the red-black team from a free kick, his second of the match, in the 33rd minute. Botafogo reduced the deficit in the 39th minute and gave the final score to the match.

Flamengo will face Portuguesa on the 18th, at 15 pm, in Gávea, in the last round of the qualifying phase of the Copa Rio Sub-15.

The U-17 match was a close affair. The first goal for the red-and-black team came late in the first half, in the 43rd minute, when Jhefinho scored after an assist from Pedrinho. Just 2 minutes into the second half, Botafogo equalized and turned the game around five minutes later.

Fierce, Fla equalized with Dieguinho, from the penalty spot, at 31. The third goal for Alvinegro came at 37, but the Garotos do Ninho did not give up and scored again with Enzo, at 39, defining the final result at 3x3.

The draw left Flamengo with 21 points in the qualifying phase of the Copa Rio Sub-17. The team led by Daniel Franklin will face another classic next Wednesday (15), at 15 pm, this time against Fluminense, in a postponed match from the eighth round.
