Flamengo delivered a strong performance and secured an important 1-0 victory over Grêmio, away from home, in the sixth round of the Brazilian U-20 Championship. Josmar scored the game's only goal in the 36th minute. The match was played in intense heat at the Airton Ferreira da Silva Stadium in Eldorado do Sul, in the Porto Alegre metropolitan area.
The first dangerous plays occurred in the 15th and 19th minutes of the game. Grêmio had a shot from the edge of the area, well blocked by Da Mata. For Flamengo, Daniel Sales crossed dangerously towards the goal and the goalkeeper parried it away. In the 20th minute, the striker from the Rio Grande do Sul team was one-on-one with the goalkeeper, but Leo Nannetti made the save and João Victor prevented another shot.
In a play between Daniel Sales and Sayago, the right-back crossed into the area, Ryan Roberto picked up the rebound from the goalkeeper and almost scored in the 33rd minute.
