It's not every day you win a title against Manchester City. The U15 Boys from Ninho will be able to tell their grandchildren that they beat the powerful English team 1-0, with a goal from Thauan, and won the fourth edition of the Fattorie Donna Giulia Youth Cup. The final was played this Sunday (27), at 10:30 am (5:30 am, Brasília time), in Italy.

Flamengo, as expected, had no easy task against Manchester City. The match was fiercely contested, and Thauan's header in the 13th minute of the first half rewarded the better team on the pitch. The words of Italian Nico Erbaggio—the match commentator on the competition's official YouTube channel—give a glimpse into what Flamengo left in Italy.

"A spectacle! From the moment they stepped onto the field and the surrounding area. Both in the quality of the players and in the spirit demonstrated in the competition. The players came dancing and jumping upon arrival onto the field with their speakers. Hugging each other, with the Brazilian spirit and their dancing football," said the Italian commentator, emotionally.

Successfully completed, the mission began exactly a week ago, when Flamengo embarked for Rome on Sunday (20) and arrived the following day in Pompeii, the city that hosted the competition. After securing qualification with 14 goals scored and none conceded, in the 8-0 and 6-0 thrashings of FC Pompei (ITA) and IFK Lidingo (SWE), respectively, the team, with several players rested, was defeated 1-0 by Benevento (ITA).

In the round of 4, Rubro-Negro defeated Sassuolo (ITA) 2-3 on penalties after a goalless draw. Recovering from the scare, the young Mengão team overcame Salernitana (ITA) with another rout (0-XNUMX) and advanced to the semifinals. On the same day, they defeated Fiorentina, their fifth Italian opponent, by the same score and sealed their spot in the final.
