Flamengo beat América-MG 2-0 on Monday afternoon (10), in Gávea, in the second leg of the round of 20 of the U-XNUMX Brazil Cup. With the result, Mais Querido advances to the next phase of the national competition.

Diego, with a header, and Matheus Gonçalves, with a beautiful shot from outside the box, scored the red-and-black goals in the match.

The Ninho Boys won the first leg 1-0 in Minas Gerais and were even playing for a draw this afternoon. But they didn't rest on their laurels and pushed hard from the start. The red-and-blacks' momentum was rewarded with a 3-0 aggregate victory in both games.

Now Mengão awaits its opponent in the next round of the competition, between Fluminense from Piauí and Iape from Maranhão. 

 

The game

Flamengo didn't settle for the aggregate advantage and started the match going after their opponent.

In Mengão's first big chance, Ryan Luka received the ball in the box and shot into the corner, right at the goalkeeper's feet. The goalkeeper reacted and made a good save. The Ninho Boys were the better team in the match.

Following the first half, the two teams played evenly. The match went into halftime with the score tied at 0-0.

At the beginning of the second half, Flamengo worked the ball in search of space. 

And the red-and-black's patience paid off! Wesley and Werton exchanged passes on the right, and the striker took a shot; the ball was deflected for a corner. Diego rose higher than everyone else from the spot and opened the scoring at Gávea: 1-0.

When América went forward in search of reducing Mais Querido's advantage, Kauã Santos made good saves and ensured that the team was not leaked.

In the final stretch of the match, Matheus Gonçalves received the ball on the left, cut inside, and hit a rare shot into the top corner; A great goal: 2-0. Our star's brilliant effort gave the final score to the match.
