Flamengo have agreed to sign midfielder Pedro Henrique, then linked to Paysandu (PA), as another reinforcement for the under-20 team. In agreement with the player and Paysandu for the payment of the compensation clause (termination fee), the player arrived at CT George Helal this Friday (17), where he got to know the structure of Ninho do Urubu, underwent medical examinations and signed a contract lasting three years.

Before being integrated into the category's roster, in an initial stage—resulting from an institutional partnership focused on athlete development—it was agreed between the parties that the athlete, after being registered by Flamengo, will be loaned to Paysandu until the end of the Série C of the Brazilian Championship.

This measure is part of the strategic plan for the development and maturation of Pedro Henrique, who, by competing in the tournament, will have the opportunity to gain experience and more playing time at a competitive level. Born on November 7, 2007, the midfielder is currently a starter for Paysandu's main team, even though he is still eligible to play for two more seasons in the under-20 category.

Currently, Flamengo occupies seventh place in the Brazilian Under-20 Championship, with 10 points in six rounds. The top eight advance to the quarterfinals. The next match will be against Fluminense, on Wednesday (22), at 15 pm, at Gávea. In addition to the national competition, Rubro-Negro will also compete in the Carioca Under-20 Championship in the second half of the year.

Flamengo thanks Paysandu, in the person of its president, Luiz Eduardo Baptista, known as Bap, for the institutional partnership established in this agreement, which symbolizes a first joint step in the development of young talents for Brazilian football.
