The fourth round of the Flamengo Adidas Cup 2023 was played on Thursday morning (14) at the George Helal Training Center, in Rio de Janeiro (RJ). There were four matches and only the Mengão U-15 team entered the field, while the kids in the U-16 category rested. Fla was beaten by São Paulo by a score of 4 to 1.

At Field 5 of Ninho do Urubu, in a match that started at 9:2 am, Colo-Colo defeated Midtjylland 0-15. Fifteen minutes into the first half, Morales made a beautiful individual play and struck from distance to open the scoring. Eleven minutes later, Vicente Martinez finished with his left foot from the edge of the box to extend the lead. In the second half, the duel was fiercely contested, with the Danes pushing forward, but a strong Chilean defense managed to neutralize their efforts and secure the victory.

In a match that kicked off at the same time on Field 6 of the George Helal Training Center, Orlando City and Cerro Porteño faced off. The North Americans won 3-0, securing their first victory in the 2023 Flamengo Adidas Cup. The first goal came just 20 seconds into the match, with Ellis capitalizing on a loose ball in the box. The second goal was an own goal in the 18th minute. Ocampo attempted to cut out a cross from the left that was aimed at Ellis, but ended up taking it away from the goalkeeper and putting it into his own net. In the second half, in the 13th minute, Pedro Cruz pounced on a through ball and struck with skill to seal the victory.

Field 5 also hosted the match between Santos Laguna and Atlético Nacional. In the first minute, Diego López took advantage of a corner kick from the right and fired home a first-time shot to open the scoring for the Colombian team. Six minutes later, Mira appeared in the six-yard box and finished to double the lead. The Mexicans responded in the first half. In the 28th minute, Bernal received the ball up front and pulled one back. The comeback ended there, as in the eighth minute, Arboleda converted a penalty kick to secure Atlético's 3-1 victory.

In the other match at 10:45 a.m., held at Field 6, Flamengo's U-15 team was defeated by São Paulo. Flamengo scored the first goal in the 11th minute through Henry, who pounced on a free kick in the box and headed it into the back of the net. In the fourth minute of the second half, Lucca made a fine solo run down the left to extend the lead. Five minutes later, the number 7 appeared again to score his second and the third for the São Paulo team. Flamengo reduced the deficit in the 14th minute through Ryan Pablo, but São Paulo reached the fourth with Henry, securing a 4-1 victory.

Even without playing on Thursday, Flamengo's U-16 team leads Group 1 of the competition with six points and depends solely on itself to secure a spot in the semifinals. Mengão's U-15 team no longer has a chance of qualifying.

The competition will resume this Friday with four more matches. The fifth and final round of the First Phase will feature Flamengo U-16 vs. Midtjylland and Orlando City vs. Colo-Colo at 9 a.m., followed by Santos Laguna (Mexico) vs. Arsenal and Flamengo U-15 vs. Atlético Nacional at 10:45 a.m.

The Flamengo Adidas Cup 2023 is a U-16 competition, and the competition rules provide for two 35-minute halves of the match. There are five rounds in the First Phase, Semifinals, and the final, which will be played on Sunday (17). Fla TV will broadcast all the tournament matches live.
