Flamengo has a very important commitment this Wednesday (7) for the Brazilian U-20, against Bahia, at 15 pm, at the José Bastos Padilha Stadium, in Gávea. Coach Nuno Campos led this Tuesday (6), at CT George Helal, the last training session before the match, valid for the ninth round of the competition. FlamengoTV will broadcast the game, with images.

Currently in seventh place, Flamengo has 13 points and only depends on itself to stay in the qualifying zone, which extends to eighth place. Palmeiras leads with 17 points, while Bahia occupies tenth place with ten. A victory could push Flamengo even further ahead in the standings, depending on other results. All ten games will be played on the same day and time.

After losing away to Grêmio in the sixth round of the Brazilian Under-20 Championship, the Rubro-Negro defeated Internacional 2-0 last Wednesday (April 30th) at Gávea. Iago, from a free kick, and Guilherme, who took advantage of a great assist from Jorge Mora, scored the goals for the team, which had a strong performance. The expectation now is to secure a second consecutive victory to gain confidence, as the next two matches will be against São Paulo and Palmeiras, both away.

Despite making it clear that Flamengo's under-20 team must always be prepared to win games, coach Nuno Campos emphasized that the main objective is to increasingly prepare the players so they are ready if Filipe Luís needs to call them up for the main team.

The coach highlighted the presence of defender João Victor, midfielder João Alves, and forward Joshua among the squad for the Libertadores match against LDU. A day after the victory over Internacional in the Brazilian Under-20 Championship, Joshua, who had been included in Filipe Luis's squad once again, scored the winning goal against Botafogo-PB in the Copa do Brasil opener in São Luís.
