Flamengo learned its opponents in the group stage of the CONMEBOL Libertadores Sub-20 2026 this Tuesday (10). The competition will be played between March 7 and 22, in Quito, Ecuador. Current champion of the tournament, Rubro-Negro enters the field in search of the continental three-peat and occupies the position of top seed in Group A.

Following the finalization of the list of players registered for the competition, the 2026 edition marks the 10th edition of the tournament, which brings together 12 clubs representing 10 South American countries. The teams are divided into three groups of four teams each, with all matches played in a single round-robin format at the same host venue.

In the group stage, in Group A, Flamengo will face Independiente Medellín (COL), Bolívar (BOL) and Estudiantes de Mérida (VEN) in the qualifying phase of the competition.

The tournament also features two other groups. Group B consists of Palmeiras (BRA), Sporting Cristal (PER), Olimpia (PAR), and Universidad Católica (EQU). Group C includes Belgrano (ARG), Nacional (URU), Santiago Wanderers (CHI), and LDU Quito (EQU).

The championship will be played in two phases: a group stage and a final stage, totaling 22 matches throughout the competition. The leaders of each group advance to the semifinals, along with the best second-placed team among the three groups.

If Flamengo advances to the semifinals, they will compete for a spot in the final in a single match. The final of the competition will also be a single match, concluding the tournament on March 22nd in the Ecuadorian capital.
