Sunny Sunday with an unprecedented final! No, we're not talking about the final between France and Croatia for the World Cup, but rather the Fla x Flu won by Mais Querido this Sunday morning (15). After a 1-1 draw in normal time, with a goal scored by Vitinho, at the Luso Brasileiro Stadium, Flamengo beat Fluminense on penalties 4-2 and became undefeated champions of the first edition of the Donos da Bola Cup in the under-14 category. 

With an irreparable campaign, 34 goals scored, nine wins and two draws including the result of the final, the Garotos do Ninho of the under-14s won another title for the red-black base in the year, which already has four international trophies, Copinha and Campeonato Carioca. 

The U-14 team's run to the title began with Flamengo sweeping their opponents and claiming seven consecutive victories in the group stage. In the round of 1, Mengão defeated Barra da Tijuca 0-6. In the quarterfinals, it was Paduano's turn to suffer the red-and-black's artillery, 0-1. In the semifinals, they tied with Vasco at Gávea, 1-4, and on penalties, 3-XNUMX, a score that guaranteed Flamengo a place in the final against Fluminense.  

Despite the strong sun this Sunday morning in Rio de Janeiro, the Ninho Boys started the match strong. Just three minutes in, a stunning goal! Matheus França looked up and found a great assist for Vitinho, who chipped the ball over the top to give Flamengo the lead.

FLu then threatened with a header that hit the crossbar, but Flamengo was undeterred and responded in kind with Petterson. The Flamengo midfielder made a good run down the left and shot; the Tricolor goalkeeper made a partial save, and it took the defender to prevent the goal from being scored on the goal line.

Late in the first half, a free kick was awarded to the Mais Querido team just outside the penalty area. Matheus França stepped up to take the kick and nearly scored. The Tricolor goalkeeper stretched to palm the ball away for a corner.

With the score at 10-XNUMX, Flamengo returned to the second half confidently, marking Fluminense well without giving them much space. Mengão had the first opportunity in the second half. Flamengo dominated the game, defending better, and finding a good way to reach their rival's goal. Until the 20th minute, the Tricolor equalized. The goal boosted Fluminense's spirits, and two minutes later, they threatened again with a stunning bicycle kick from Fabio inside the penalty area. Luckily, the ball went just wide of the post and out of bounds.

The equalizer gave Fluminense the confidence that a comeback was possible, and the game became more open, with both teams rushing forward. But despite the youngsters' enthusiasm, the referee ended the match with 40 minutes on the clock.

After a solid performance, Francisco firmly secured his place in the final of the Donos da Bola Cup. Flamengo's red-and-black defense saved two penalties, giving Flamengo the lead in the final. The goals for Mais Querido were: Londrina, Vitor Muller, João Marcelo, and Fortaleza.
