First, it was the under-15 team - which, last Saturday (2), beat Fluminense and was crowned champion of the Guanabara Cup. This Sunday (3), in Gávea, Flamengo's under-17 team repeated the scenario with a different opponent. The boys beat Botafogo 3-1 and won another title for the gallery of the red-black youth categories.

Despite the score, it wasn't an easy victory. The opponent took the lead after just five minutes. Flamengo took the lead and dominated the match until Lincoln scored the equalizer in the 35th minute.

The turning point came in the second half. Even with the match more evenly balanced, the Mais Querido (Most Beloved) were creating more chances. In the 26th minute, Vinícius Junior broke through on the left and gave the goalkeeper no chance to prevent the second goal. Alisson sealed the score in the 35th, capitalizing on a rebound from Carvalheira's shot.

Matheus Thuler, the team captain, praised the team's work and highlighted Flamengo's other achievements in the competition. "The excitement is overwhelming. The title is the result of a lot of hard work, a lot of dedication. Our team proved itself on the field: we were undefeated champions, we didn't lose to anyone; we scored goals in every game and had the best attack in the competition," he said.

With the trophy in hand, Thuler has already planned his debut in another competition: the Taça BH, which begins next weekend. "Our hope is to fight for another title. On Sunday, we'll be firmly in the running for another competition," he stated.

The Mais Querido youth team defeated Tigres do Brasil in the final round of the first phase of the Taça Rio and is in first place in the group. With this qualification, Flamengo will face Vasco in the semifinals. The battle for a spot in the final will be over two matches. The first will be on Wednesday (6), with Vasco at home. The second match will only be on the 16th, because in addition to the second phase of the State Championship, Botafogo and Fluminense, who are competing in the other semifinal, are also competing in the Brazilian Championship in this category.
