Flamengo returns this Saturday (21) to the Municipal Stadium of Ibirité, where they beat Portuguesa on Thursday, to face América de Teófilo Otoni at 5 pm, for the 3rd round of the group stage of the Taça BH Sub-17. Both teams have 100% success in the competition, which makes the match a direct confrontation to decide who advances to the round of 16 in first place in the group.
Coach Phelipe Leal's team faces a crucial match, as the top 10 teams advance directly to the next phase without having to wait for the results of the six best second-placed teams. Aware of the challenge, the coach considers Saturday's game a final.
“We know the importance of the game and consider it another crucial match in the tournament. Paying attention to the details and respecting our opponent will give us the necessary level of concentration to play our best game.”
Flamengo vs. América TO
Flamengo continues its excellent form this season. The Rubro-negro (Flamengo) entered the Taça BH tournament leading the Campeonato Carioca (Rio de Janeiro State Championship), and the Minas Gerais state competition is no different. With two wins so far, Flamengo leads Group D. Special mention goes to forwards Rodrigo Muniz and Rhyan, who have scored all four of Flamengo's goals in the tournament. And of course, special mention also goes to full-back Ramon, who has proven to be the perfect provider for the attacking duo. The number 6 is responsible for all four assists that resulted in goals.
A lesser-known team in Group D, which also includes Portuguesa (SP) and Chapecoense, América de Teófilo Otoni has been surprising its opponents. The Minas Gerais team shares the lead with Flamengo, after winning both of its matches 2-1.
