Gávea was the scene of a huge celebration this Saturday (15/11). On the 119th anniversary of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo, several Flamengo fans were present at the club's headquarters to witness launches, tributes, and musical performances. All to further celebrate the joy of being a fan of the Most Beloved. Amidst all the festivities, Flamengo's under-20 soccer team played the final game of the second phase of the Octávio Pinto Guimarães Tournament (OPG), against Bangu, also at the Flamengo headquarters.

Needing a win to maintain their lead and secure their spot in the championship final, Flamengo's young players took the lead in the first half with a goal from Jajá, a well-placed cross-shot. In the second half, Douglas Baggio's penalty secured the Flamengo victory and, consequently, their place in the tournament final. "It was a very difficult match. Bangu had a great campaign in the first phase and came out very strong for this game. We struggled a bit at the beginning of the game, but after the timeout, we asked our players to play with simplicity. We improved, fixed some details, and secured the victory. The team was very focused, focused, and motivated. Without a doubt, the highlight was the collective effort," said Flamengo coach Zé Eduardo.

In the final, the Mais Querido will face Botafogo for the third consecutive time. Flamengo won one of the other two matches. The decisive matches will take place next Wednesday (November 19.11) in Gávea, and on Saturday (November 22.11), both at 16 p.m. "Botafogo is a strong defender. They have good players and are a very well-organized team. It will undoubtedly be a tough match. The two teams are very evenly matched, and there will be no favorite. We're counting on the quality of our squad and a strategy that guarantees a good result in the first match to be crowned champions on Saturday. In a fierce and intense match, the red-and-black boys faced Vasco in the semifinals of the U-17 Rio Cup. After a 1-1 draw in regulation time, the two teams went to penalty shootouts, battling for a spot in the tournament final. But despite a strong performance, Vasco's team couldn't resist and was defeated 6-5. The same happened with the U-15s, also eliminated on penalties in the Rio Cup semifinals, after a 1-1 draw against Vasco. The U-13s drew 0-0 with Fluminense in the Metropolitano tournament final and finished second, as the team from Laranjeiras had qualified first in the initial stage of the tournament.

The red-black under-15 team now has ahead of it, before closing the year 2014, the BH Cup, from December 7th to 14th.
