In the U-14 Metropolitano, in a match also played at Gávea Stadium, Flamengo and Vasco were tied at 0-0. Vasco was far superior throughout the match, but missed several scoring opportunities and failed to open the scoring. The result, however, maintains the red-and-black team's long unbeaten streak in the category and its position as leader of Group A of the Rio Cup. The team returns to action on the 12th, when it hosts Boavista at Gávea Stadium at 10:30 am. It's worth noting that Flamengo is a former Guanabara Cup champion, and if it also wins the Rio Cup, it will be crowned champion outright, without the need to play in the final.
