Flamengo defeats Palmeiras and advances to the final of the BH Under-17 Cup

Mais Querido fought from start to finish and managed to come out with victory in the semifinals

The Taça BH met its first finalist. At Arena do Calçado, in Nova Serrana, on Monday afternoon (24), Flamengo hosted Palmeiras and won 3-1, securing a place in the tournament's grand final. The goals were scored by Marx and Vitor Ricardo (twice). The Mais Querido will face São Paulo on Thursday (27), at 19 pm.

Flamengo took to the field with: Victor Hugo; Braian, Natan, Teo and Ramon; Henrique, Matheus Alves, Vitor Ricardo, Marx (Vinícius Oliveira) and Luan (Yuri); Rhyan.

Mengo scores twice and takes the lead

Undefeated in the competition, Flamengo faced the tough challenge of facing Palmeiras in the Taça BH semifinals, and so they started by putting a lot of pressure on their opponents. Studying the São Paulo team in the opening minutes, it didn't take long for Flamengo to open the scoring. In the 7th minute, Marx received the ball in midfield, took a shot from distance, and was deflected off the opposing defender to score a beautiful goal for Flamengo.

Shortly after, in the 10th minute, Matheus Alves stole the ball in midfield, carried it and passed it to Vitor Ricardo, who sent it over the goalkeeper and scored Flamengo's second.

The "Mais Querido" (The Most Beloved) continued to put pressure on the opposing team and sought a good lead in the first half, but Palmeiras' defense managed to hold off Mengão's strong attack. On the other side, the São Paulo team barely troubled goalkeeper Victor Hugo, who didn't have much to work with in the first 45 minutes.

Vitor scores again and Flamengo wins

In the final stage, Flamengo tried to control the tempo and hold off Palmeiras' attempts. However, the opposing team managed to close the gap with Guilherme early on.

In the 20th minute, Braian was sent off, leaving Flamengo down to ten men. Even so, Flamengo didn't give up, and shortly after, Vitor Ricardo stole the ball at the edge of the box and scored a stunning goal, leaving the score comfortable for Flamengo.

Afterward, Flamengo simply held off the opposing team, which had Willian sent off, and attempted other shots, all of which were saved by the Palmeiras goalkeeper. Thus, Flamengo defeated the São Paulo team, advanced, and reached the BH Cup final.
