TWO-TIME CHAMPION! In the second leg of the U-17 Brazil Cup final, Flamengo defeated São Paulo 3-0 on Monday afternoon (15), at Raulino de Oliveira, and became two-time champion of the tournament, winning another title for the red-black youth football team in the 2021 season. Mengão's goals were scored by Matheus Gonçalves, Petterson and Victor Hugo. On the day that the Most Beloved completes 126 years of history, the Red-Black Nation has plenty of reasons to celebrate!

It is worth mentioning that, with the conquest of the Under-17 Brazil Cup, Rubro-Negro automatically secured the Super Cup title, as it was also the champion of the Brazilian Championship in the category.

The game
The match started at a fast pace, with both teams taking the initiative. São Paulo pushed forward, making it difficult for the red-and-blacks to get the ball out. In the seventh minute, Zé Welinton made a good run down the left, burst into the box, and unleashed a powerful shot. Leandro palmed it forward, and the defense cleared it. Matheus Gonçalves then took a shot from outside the box, but the goalkeeper tipped it out for a corner.

Flamengo continued to press in search of the first goal. In the 16th minute, Matheus França gained the upper hand, entered the box, and struck a powerful shot. The goalkeeper made a great save. In the 22nd minute, Ythallo received his second yellow card after fouling Matheus França and was sent off, leaving São Paulo ten men down.

Then, in the 26th minute, Mengão opened the scoring! França was fed down the right, took the ball to the byline, and rolled it into the middle of the box. Matheus Gonçalves arrived with a first-time shot, but the ball deflected into the corner: 1-0.

In the final stretch of the first half, Mais Querido extended their lead with two goals! In the 38th minute, Petterson received the ball on the left, drove the ball to the edge of the six-yard box, and slotted it under the goalkeeper's legs: 2-0. Two minutes later, Matheus Gonçalves delivered a beautiful pass to Victor Hugo, who came one-on-one with Leandro and calmly finished to make it three for Mengão: 3-0.

In the second half, Flamengo slowed down the pace and began to maintain the advantage they had built in the first half. In the 24th minute, Zé Welinton made a good run down the left and passed to Mateusão, but the striker's shot was weak.

Even down ten men, São Paulo tried to attack but were neutralized by Flamengo's strong marking. In the 33rd minute, after a corner kick from the left, Mateusão rose high and hit the post with a header. It was almost Mengão's fourth goal. To chants of "olé" from the nation, Flamengo played another excellent match and won two more trophies for Gávea: the U-17 Brazil Cup and the Super Cup. Another golden year for Flamengo's youth soccer!
