TWO-TIME CHAMPION! In the second leg of the Brazilian Under-17 Championship final, Flamengo demonstrated its best campaign in the competition and defeated Vasco with authority 4-1 on Monday night (16), at Raulino de Oliveira Stadium. The Rubro-Negro's goals were scored by Victor Hugo (twice) and Petterson (twice). In Volta Redonda, the Garotos do Ninho were brilliant and managed to reverse the adverse result of the first leg of the final (3-1), winning the Brazilian championship for the second time in the category. This is yet another trophy that Mengão's youth football team has secured this season!    

The game
Flamengo started the match exchanging passes in the attacking half, looking for spaces to reach Vasco's box. In the 15th minute, Mengão opened the scoring! Victor Hugo received the ball at the edge of the box and hit a beautiful shot into the goalkeeper's right corner: 1-0.

The Boys from the Nest continued to pressure the São Januário team and created opportunities in attack. In the 24th minute, Matheusão ​​received the ball inside the box, beat his marker, and fired a powerful shot that Allan Vitor made a good save. In the 33rd minute, Flamengo extended their lead! Zé Wellinton crossed into the box and found Victor Hugo, who stretched and sent the ball into the net, scoring his second goal of the match: 2-0.

And there was still time for Mengão's third! Petterson made an excellent individual play in the box, cut through the marking and shot powerfully towards the goal: 3-0. The Mais Querido went into the break with the result they needed to be champions.

Early in the second half, goalkeeper Dyogo shone and made a great save, preventing Vasco's first goal. In the 12th minute, Matheus Gonçalves received the ball on the right flank, cut inside, and took a shot that sailed over the goal. Matheusão ​​then controlled the ball inside the box and fired a well-placed shot. The ball sailed just wide of the goalkeeper's left post.

In the 28th minute, Vasco reduced the deficit to 3-1 with a Barros goal. With this result, the match was headed to penalties. But the Boys from the Nest were valiant and scored the winning goal in the 43rd minute, with Petterson scoring his second goal of the game! The striker made a solo play, cleared the defense, and sent a shot into the corner to give the team from Gávea their second Brazilian championship title, bringing joy to the immense Red-Black Nation!
