Golden season of the 2009 generation. In the decisive classic against Fluminense, this Saturday, at CT das Vargens, in Xerém, Flamengo won by a score of 2 to 1 (4 to 3 on aggregate) and won the Rio Cup, and consequently, the 2023 Metropolitan Championship (referring to Carioca), as they had already won the Guanabara Cup. The red-black goals were scored by Rhuan and João Victor.

This was the seventh title of the season. Goalkeeper Bruno received the trophy for best player of the final, midfielder Gabriel (Lukako) was named the championship's best player, and number 10 João Victor was the competition's top scorer with 11 goals.
