Now it's at home. This Tuesday (1), Flamengo takes to the field against Corinthians, at 15 pm, to fight for a place in the semifinals of the U-20 Brazil Cup. Mengo won the first match 2-1 and hopes to repeat the victory playing with the support of their fans in Gávea.

The Red-Black team comes into the match with high morale. Last Saturday, the Mais Querido hosted Botafogo at Gávea and, with a goal from Vitor Gabriel, drew 1-1 in the semifinal of the Campeonato Carioca. With this result, the Garotos do Ninho qualified for another state final, their fourth in a row.

In the first round, Flamengo played a great game in Belém, defeating Paysandu 2-0 with goals from Patrick and Lucas Silva, and eliminated them in the second leg, advancing automatically. In the round of 2, Flamengo had a tough time. Beating Vitória 1-4 away from home, Flamengo lost by the same score in Gávea and went to penalties for a spot. With two saves from Gabriel Batista, Flamengo qualified and won 2-XNUMX.

With grit and one less player, Flamengo achieved a great victory last Wednesday (25). At the Nabi Abi Chedid Stadium, in Bragança Paulista, the Garotos do Ninho entered the field very focused and left with a positive result away from home. Opening the scoring with Wesley, Fla saw Corinthians equalize, but ran after, fought hard and scored the second goal with Michael, winning 2-1 and bringing the advantage to Rio de Janeiro.

"After the first leg against Corinthians, I cited the motto 'Race, Love, and Passion,' and against Botafogo in the State semifinal it was no different. Our team was very physically exhausted, we had three injured defenders, our captain had to be improvised as a defender again, and yet we achieved our goal with great resilience and will. It is with this same spirit that we will go into this final against Corinthians, very focused and concentrated and always trusting in the strength and unity of our group, which is very strong," said coach Márcio Torres.

For Vitor Gabriel, scorer of the weekend's goal, Flamengo needs to capitalize on its momentum. "We're coming off a tough run of decisive matches, and tomorrow we have another one. We'll go strong for this game, fighting for each other, helping each other, and always valuing the group. We have our goals set for the season and we're going after them," he said.

Captain Hugo Moura also commented on the match. "We achieved two very important results against Corinthians and Botafogo, both achieved through grit and determination. Our squad is very strong, and regardless of the absences, we will be very strong on the field and we count on the support of our fans to continue advancing in the Copa do Brasil," he added.

Entry to the match is free for both fan groups. However, for security reasons, the attendance will be limited to 350 red-and-black fans (not counting club members) and 100 opposing fans. The Gávea stadium will be limited to capacity. Fans will be separated in the stands and enter through different entrances. Once the security guards at the entrances reach the fan limit, no one will be allowed in except for club members.
